Hi, Uploading an index definition with no data won't cause the index to stick. Index building is an offline process, which currently isn't as robust as other datastore operations, and stuck indexes may occur on occasion. The team is working on adding more robustness so this doesn't happen as often, and will be easier to fix in the future.
