Thanks for your experience. Do you know if you had this working before
or after GApps stopped allowing naked urls? I have given this over
24hrs to work through.
I haven't used www domain on other google services.
I have no problems at all with other subdomain names.
I have set up the CNAME+DNS from a 1and1 account. Not sure if this is
relevant, but I also have MX settings on the underlying domain.com for
my Google Apps email account.
I could forward from www.mydomain.com to a
subdomainthatworkswithGA.mydomain.com, (but that can't be right?) I
would then have to hide the subdomain URL from users.
Additionally, my site can be addressed as 'mydomain.com' in the
address bar. I think that will no longer work even if the 'www' URL
name was being processed. I guess I would forward mydomain.com to
subdomainthatworkswithGA.mydomain.com to have that with my GAE site?
It would be great if the 'AddURL' form told me what it has done with
'www' - as I mentioned earlier - it doesn't error or anything after I
click 'Add'. The url simply doesn't appear in the list above the form.
It doesn't take me to the page to request I set up the CNAME record.
Is there a reason why GA docs do not give examples using 'www' as the
subdomain - as this seems the subdomain of choice for GAE app brand
experience?
Sorry to have to persevere with this but I need to be absolutely sure
that at the end of the day, my GAE sites will be branded through
mydomain.com in a straightforward and easy to manage way.
