The Python/Java confusion has the potential to taint Google's "brand".
If one (Java) is vastly superior for GAE, and they would prefer we port, then make a simple statement: "GAE supports Python, and will continue to do so. However, Java apps currently run more efficiently, and will be more cost effective. Our new pricing reflects this. Long-term, GAE expects that Go will provide greater efficiency than Java, and we expect it to be our most cost effective environment." Simply clubbing everyone with a big pricing stick is not nice, and not good for the brand. I'm reading all these posts, and feel very discouraged because it just seems nothing is favorable to Python. I'll end by saying that it is not a concern right now because nothing is final.
