What you should be doing is to combine all the entities required for one page into a single entity. Each time an entity is added to a page, you update the page. This way, each page visit should only trigger one datastore read. Of course, writing will be slightly more expensive since you will need to write the entity, read the page and update it, but it should be fair assumption that you will be reading a lot more than you are writing.
