Honestly, the only idea I have left is the nuclear option of wiping Eclipse and reinstalling from scratch. If you're familiar with Linux (or are ready to learn) I would also suggest installing a Linux VM <http://www.howtogeek.com/120246/how-to-install-a-virtualized-copy-of-ubuntu-in-windows-8/>, then installing Eclipse and the Google plugin into the VM and see how that works out for you.
