Then you picked the wrong horse.

GAE URLFetch has never, and will never, be anywhere close to 100% reliable.

Nothing is 100% but if you think you need “five nines” (99.99999%) then you 
need to change infrastructure.

I’d guess that it’s much closer to 99% over the long term (given that they 
regularly have such massive downtime, plus the chronic random failures).

I’m not talking about GAE in general. Just URLFetch.
