Hi all, I was able to resolve my issue and I will post it here:
When my credit/free trial expired, that also canceled the account linking with Sendgrid. Sendgrid support saw that the emails were being processed on their end (hence I didn't get an error in the logs), however GAE requires a google specific Sendgrid API to be enabled to successfully deliver the email. Re-following the document Julie posted, I was able to *re-sign up for Sendgrid, generate new API keys. *I did not re-generate the keys the first time when Julie posted the document, however it is *required.* Thank you all for the help!
