Hi Everyone,

As you may have noticed, lots of new Calendar functionality has been
released today. Here's the rundown:

New Reminders Features
     - Reminders are now available on non-primary calendars!
     - Default reminders can be set per calendar rather than just per
user (via the UI only).
     - If you add a reminder element with no attributes the event will
use the calendar's default reminder settings.
     - Multiple reminders - Each event can have up to 5 reminders.
     - You can set a method (all, none, email, sms, alert) for each
reminder.
     - Learn more in the Google Data Reference:
http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/elements.html#gdReminder

Control Calendar Sharing with Access Control Lists (ACL)
     - New read-write ACL feed.
     - Access levels include read-only, free/busy only, editor, or
owner.
     - Access scopes include user, domain and public levels.
     - Get the specs in the Calendar data API Reference document:
http://code.google.com/apis/calendar/reference.html#gacl_reference
     - Learn to share form the examples in the Developer's Guide:
http://code.google.com/apis/calendar/developers_guide_protocol.html
     - The new Java client library (version 1.0.10) provides ACL
support, with the .NET and Python libraries to be updated soon.

A couple smaller feature sets include:
     - Added ability to changing single events into recurring events
     - JSON output now available for private feeds when using AuthSub
and ClientLogin authentication
     - A new timezone query parameter 'ctz' that will cause all events
to be returned in the specified timezone

We also fixed a number of bugs, some of which were reported by
developers in this group - Thanks!
     - Intermittent recurring event failures should no longer occur.
     - Intermittent recurring events off by 1 should no longer occur.
     - VTIMEZONES in gd:recurrence elements now have proper time zone
definitions for DST change.
     - When the singleevents query parameter is true, the self link in
a single instance of a recurring event no longer returns a 500.

The developers in this group help us weed out issues and push Calendar
development in new directions. Have a go at these new features and
let us know what you think.

Happy coding!
Lane
