Hey Matt,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this.  Setting the
attendee status when you're creating an event poses an interesting
problem.  It seems to me that the status returned should always be
invited until the user actually responds to the invitation, at which
point the status would change to accepted or declined.

I think if you set the status to accepted in the entry you're
creating, then the status in the event returned from the server should
depend on whether or not the event was successfully added to the
attendee's calendar.  If the creator of the event doesn't have access
to modify the attendee's calendar then I think the status should
change to invited.  What do you think?

Nonetheless, the behavior should be the same for both single and
recurring events.  I've filed a bug to fix this issue.
