Hi

There is virtually no difference between using Google Calendar from a gmail
account vs a Google Apps account, with the exception that with Google Apps
account you cannot use AuthSub as the authentication mechanism.

But there are advantages of using Google Apps account compare with using
just normal gmail account. One is that the domain admin has the privilege
to insert events to all calendar users within the domain. This is a
powerful feature when using Calendar within an organization. Also using
Google Apps, you may be able to use the Provisioning API to create new
accounts for users who doesn't doesn't his or her own gmail account.

Google Apps Home -

Google Apps Provisioning API -

Hope that helps,
Austin
