Same thing to me for 3 days. I'm writing from my personal Gmail account, but I'm a Google Apps user. It is very important to me to be able to synchronise my google calendar with iCal (mainly for Offline purposes).
I see this problem occured already during august & solutions have been found. However, the problem shows up again theses days... Is it related directly to the some user accounts only ?
