Hi Amey,

All the projects on code.google.com are open source. If you put
create a project, the public will be able to *see* it and comment on
it. But, that is not the same as letting anybody contribute, so you
would not have to be accepting help from anyone.

If the project description says that this is a student project, it is
likely that no one outside your team will even take the time to
contribute. You can look around the site and find many projects like
that: they are public, but it is only the project members who have
ever made any changes.

However, I agree that some students would prefer their projects to be
private rather than public. While I encourage students to learn to be
part of the open source community, I also know that some students may
not feel ready to do that yet. Unfortunately, we do not offer private
projects at this time.

Thanks,
jason!
