That's great news! Thanks so much. I'll stop working on the work-around in
the hope that things are resolved soon directly with our original
repository.

Could you let me know as and when (if not already) you have any idea at all
how long it will take to fix? We are up against some really tight deadlines
at the moment so a workaround[1] may make more sense for us if this looks
like it will be a hard bug to track down.

[1] i.e. moving to a different repository and patching the diffs over later,
maybe somehow using svnsync...
