@Ben Collins-Sussman: Sorry, I didn't see your post.  I actually tried
committing after removing locally but nothing changed; SVN placed the
files where the files by the same name had been before.  *shrug*

But yes, it was a newbie question - although I actually thought it
might be impossible / server-side-only because the only solution I had
found was to generate a dump via svnadmin, edit, and restore -
something only Google could do (although I think project owners should
have the option), albeit cumbersome enough that I thought surely there
was another way.

Had I thought to search for an SVN list I would have; that is a better
solution than posting here.  Thanks for not delivering the typical
hacker response (which I have been guilty of).
