The workaround for this bug is to use "git clone 
http://code.google.com/p/myproject"; (note no trailing /).

There is a bug in our URL handling that doesn't strip slashes after the 
project name. In later versions of git (I will check on the exact version 
numbers), that slash is stripped by the client, which is why I couldn't 
reproduce initially. We are working on a fix now.
