I have an obscure need. I'm a pretty interesting person, so don't be
surprised if I follow this one through to completion too.

Need: Create script to strip all "(", ")", "-" and "." from all
Gmail / Google Contacts phone number book entries.
Reason: My 2006 BMW 550i Bluetooth iDrive system won't with paired T-
Mobile G1 / Google Android phone dial because of extraneous
characters. I don't particularly like iDrive, but the speakerphone in
car is excellent, so I'd just as well use it as much as possible...
this fix helps.

Car: 2006 BMW 550i Sedan (will get specific iDrive system firmware
info later)
Phone: First-Gen HTC T-Mobile G1 Google Android Phone

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Goal of project is to write a script that runs against my WEB-based
Contact list and drops characters that aren't needed.
I'm entirely new to the process of writing Google Apps API stuff, so
I'm speaking out loud here:
Need to:
get an entry
evaluate it
strip -, (, ), and .
replace all with &nbsp?? or null
HOW?
Use either RSS or Atom protocol
Atom newer, better??
GETTING
use http GET
RETURNS
Atom or RSS Feed
UPDATE
http PUT
.. cycle through entries and finish task, yes?
DOES SOMEONE HAVE A CLEANER SCRIPT ALREADY?
Thanks-
