I build a very simple RSS-gadget following the RSS Gadget tutorial
(http://code.google.com/intl/nl/apis/desktop/docs/Tutorials/RssGadget/
index.html)

It works fine and I'm quite pleased with the result, but I have a
problem: as soon as I zip the files and rename the file to .gg, the
gadget stops working. It still works fine if I run it form
gadget.gmanifest, but if I run the gg-file it doesn't recognize the
GADGET_NAME or GADGET_DESCRIPTION anymore; all it does is open a blank
space on the sidebar, with no gadget showing. Yet the same files run
fine from gadget.gmanifest.

And yes: gadget.gmanifest is in the root of the zip-file - the whole
file structure is preserved as is, no extra subfolders.

I tried using a new ID for the gg-version, but that does not change a
thing.

What am I doing wrong? Anybody any hints?
