Hi Stefan,

Thanks a lot for references. I will check into the references.

I used XMLHttpRequest to login, but I observed few desktop gadgets like Okrut using a Google based login. I am not sure how this is helpful for login. Any idea?

Regards,
Subbu

Hi,

Check this article about XMLHttpRequest Object:
http://code.google.com/apis/desktop/articles/e9.html

Yes, you can create a option to save the login information. See here
below few example where it does save the login.

Hi Stefan,

I need your help. I have a login functionality in my Desktop Gadget. What is best way to implement this? I am bothering about security of interface.

One more question. Can keep the login details within Desktop Gadget? so that user need not login again and again.

I look forward to see your suggestions. I appreciate all your help.

Hi,

A iGoogle gadget not the same as a Google Gadget. Google Gadget
doesn't use the html format. But use the xml for the design and js (or
vbs) for the program code.
Use the Google Desktop API how to build a Google Gadget. (see
GD_SDK_20080518.zip)

Note you can well add a iGoogle Gadget to you Google Desktop sidebar:
Just copy the url of you xml gadget to the search box of the 'add
gadget' windows. Then click on add.
