My RSS Feed Customizer gadget (
http://www.google.com/ig/directory?url=www.javascripttoolbox.com/gadget/rss/rss_dev.xml
) was _the_ most useful gadget I had. It had over 500 users, and it
actually made the pitiful default RSS implementation in iGoogle
usable.

Well, as of right now it's disabled because it is "inline". (It has to
be, to do what it does).

Damn you, Google. You took away fantastic functionality and made my
iGoogle page about 1,000 times uglier and less usable. You did so
without any warning, too.

Before, my entire iGoogle page took up a screen or less. Now it's over
2.5 screens long, because all my RSS feeds that I had marked as "read"
and didn't appear in my page are now back again.

All those feeds that I was retrieving 20 or more entries to keep up
are now reduced to 3, with a maximum of 9 entries. Not enough.

The nice hover colors and preview that I liked before are now gone,
replaced by ugly + signs, too much whitespace, and ugly blue
underlined links.

As a long-time iGoogle developer ("Gadget Guru", even), a devoted
user, and even an evangelist (
http://mattkruse.com/category/web/igoogle-gadgets/
) I am very disappointed. I've been seeing a slow but steady decline
in user count for many gadgets, and now this is enough to make me
leave iGoogle also.

Too bad. It was such a good thing.
