Hi Ronen, You shouldn't be thanking me, because the sandbox gadget is actually not working in this case. The sandbox gadget uses a number of checks to try and decipher whether or not a gadget is in the sandbox. The first of these was the presence of the gadgets.* API, which, when the sandbox gadget was written, was the easiest way to differentiate between a sandboxed account and a regular account. However, since then, the gadgets.* API has been rolled out everywhere, so now the sandbox gadget thinks it's in the sandbox no matter what.
Deprecating, or correcting the messaging of, the sandbox gadget was on my list of things to do today, so that it stops confusing people. To answer your original question, you should only use the .com TLD to use the sandbox, other TLDs may or may not work. Thanks, Dan On Jul 8, 4:22 am, Ronen <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi there > > I've noticed that about 2 or 3 days ago, navigating to google.com with > my main account will redirect me to google.co.za and navigating to > google.com/ig will behave like google.co.za/ig. > > Why is this a big deal? So even though it says I'm in the sandbox (thanks for the > gadget Dan!), opensocial won't work (you guys know the error I'm > talking about: user/gadget not authorised to retrieve friend data). > > So I now need to use this (friend-testing) account which I made in > Switzerland (.ch) to edit my gadget. > > That doesn't really seem fair.
