I'm really frustrated. I've been looking at the gadgets development site to try make a gadget for google sites. Though the syntax looks easy. There was no development tool to preview your work. In one of the pages it mentions GGE which links to this. http://code.google.com/apis/gadgets/docs/tools.html#GGE. Which you can not preview. If i put a file on my host called test.xml and link it from google sites it caches it so any changes i make when developing don't work. After more searching i found a tool that on igoogle allows you to preview. Though the code in the documentation doesn't work "Gadgets.io is undefined ".
I find it frustrating that on the get started page it no where tells you how to even run the "hello world" code. There must be an easy way.
