While the method you're using should work, I'd recommend submitting your gadget to the directory using the iGoogle Dashboard at http://code.google.com/igoogle/dashboard/ . Adding it to the dashboard gives more information about your gadget and the directory listing. If you can, try using the dashboard and let us know how that works out.
