Thanks for the definition, Takashi. It seems to make sense. The number of users of each of my themes seems to have been fairly stable since this issue was first raised, with a slow but steady increase as I would expect. As long as we theme developers can look forward to the user numbers continuing to be calculated on the same basis then we know where we stand.
It still doesn't explain why, around the beginning of April, the quoted number of users of all themes suddenly dropped by about two thirds.
