Hi, We are currently building a social network and would like to add in a very simple Google Map feature whereby users can just enter their postcode/zipcode and it will automatically generate a simple Google map based on their postcode to appear on their profile. I know this can be done, as it has been on www.Gumtree.com for quite a while.
Currently we are requesting users to copy and paste the anchor link text from Google Maps in to a box on our site, but this really is not an end user-friendly solution, which is why I like Gumtree's basic one. Looking at the Google Map API, I find that a lot of its features are too complicated for what we need; can anyone suggest the code for a nice and easy map generator based on postcode?
