Texas enacts train wreck "protect the children" app store law
Texas joins Utah in enacting a "protect the children" law requiring
anyone downloading an app to prove they're not a child, meaning the
use of government credentials and creating a vast treasure trove of
personally identifiable information ripe for hacking. Expect
continuing legal challenges against these train wreck laws, and other
legislation targeting social media at the state and federal level.
Whenever politicians touch tech, you can safely assume that they're
going to wreck it for everybody. -L
