there's a few things i'm finding out about this. I'm using a USB stick
for the experiment
but basically you would go to Tools->Folder Manager and highlight the
folder you want
to add.The folder icon will then change from 'closed' to 'open'. On
the right there are
3 options to scan once/ remove from picasa/scan always.
For external i use 'scan once', otherwise i believe it will disappear
the next time you
start picasa and the disk is not there.
To re-scan, i toggle the status to another one, back to 'scan once'
and click on the OK
button and the new files are now in picasa.
