I too prefer a native version of Picasa for Linux, but for my day-to-day use of Picasa, on an Ubuntu 9.10, the windows version of Picasa 3.6 runs fairly well under wine. (And in the "about" popup it appears as Picasa for Linux!) - Face recognition (Very impressive) - Move of photos - Albums - ...
What does not work, but for me it does not matter, - Geotagging (I use directly the Exif information and gpsman to do the job) - Making of a videos I did not tried the CD burning...
