This method of updating picasa seems to have a drawback for me:
Printing does no longer work. Whenever I print images, the result is a
more or less uniform, dark block of pixels with no resemblance to the
actual image at all.
The printer used is a photosmart 3210, the same printer working
flawlessly under a picasa installation under wine ... so at least for
me, the new picasa clients (3.6+) seem to have issues with the old
google-patched wine version.
