You're kidding right? Redhat's community distribution, Fedora, is hardly a
stable platform. You could pick many other  distributions if you want
stability. Fedora is Red Hat's development platform, it breaks often and on
purpose I might add. That's the nature of a development platform.

Gnome 3 and Gnome Shell is here to stay. However you don't need to use
those Desktop Environments on any distribution. So why switch, just use a
different destop window manager!
