I suppose that you posting that link gives me an excuse to clarify that creating your own API using our tile imagery is _not_ allowed. See this FAQ: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/faq.html#tos_tiles
So, to answer your question: 1) We don't have an official AS2 API and likely never will, due to the number of developers who have moved on to AS3 and the developer benefits of AS3. 2) It is not permissible to use any AS2 "Google Maps APIs" out there. - pamela On Fri, Sep 19, 2008 at 1:13 PM, WIBGeoCoder <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Although probably taboo to post in this group, before Google made > their AS3 (Flex) API available, a group called "Critical Mass" had > created a library specifically for Actionscript 2. > > http://code.google.com/p/google-maps-flash-interface/ > > Note: I have not used it, but found it first when I started looking > for an API for Google Maps. > > Here's a good post about how/why Critical Mass did this work: > http://experiencematters.criticalmass.com/2007/12/14/google-maps-in-a-flash/ > > I also wanted to take an opportunity and thank Google for porting over > and extending their API for Actionscript (although I don't think I'm > alone when saying that "API for Flash" is misleading, and should be > named "API for Adobe Flex" or "API for Actionscript 3") Flash and Flex > are two entirely different products, albeit both produce a swf file -- > the concepts of doing so are completely unique.
