I just wanted to share with everybody that today I released a completely revamped version of my site, HowSFVotes.com. The old version was built (in 2004) on Flash and all custom GIS code. This new version is built on top of Google's Maps API for Flex.
http://www.howsfvotes.com/#08G:8;;P;AB The Flex API made it incredibly easy for me to develop the site. I accomplished much more in the past two weeks than I did in two months in 2004. I used the following parts of the API: polygon and marker overlay, OverlayBase, Local Search (not actually part of the API), encoded polygons, custom panes, zoom and move events, and more.
