Hi Acehema, That is what's known as 2.5D in the animation world. With regard to the maps API it's a Map3D object http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/flash/reference.html#Map3D you can use it just like a 2D map except it has pitch roll and yaw to the viewer. The source view for the example you posted is here http://gmaps-samples-flash.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/demos/FlyingDirections/srcview/ so you can get the code for how they're animating that car along the path.
