MrHaley, just a thought-but is the .xml file in exactly the same domain as the .swf? The reason I ask is that if the .swf works fine when tested in Flex/Flash but won't import the data otherwise you may be bumping up against one of ActionScript's security features. Here's a link to Adobes Cross Domain Policy File Specification that has a good explanation of a solution (presuming this is the problem).
