It would be interesting to see what the reason was. I do believe they can block only one style of map for overuse. It could also be the amount of request per second. I'm sure they have some protocol in place that looks for odd behavior. Since you said it was automated test that may look suspicious to then since high traffic from one ip for a ling time and moving the map around continuously looks like a bot trying to steal tiles. Not saying you were or that is even a true reason, just my morning speculation. Good luck and keep us posted if you find the real reason.
