Interesting. I was aware of the "mapsdt" service but had no idea what
it did. Is it documented ?
If your polys do not change often, why not just make your own set of
custom tiles for deep zoom levels ? If you do not abuse it, I suspect
you could use "mapsdt" to produce the tiles for you. I believe Google
prefers to have you host the tiles on your server rather than hit
their server repeatedly. If you use GGeoXml, you have to play games
to obtain a handle for your tile layer making "hide" / "show"
difficult.
