Thanks again. I tried it, but the output is the same. The addresses
are utf8_unicode_ci encoded in the MySQL database (I 've also tried
utf8_general_ci with the same result).
But I don't understand what's the difference between the work of the
script and my call of a url like
http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?output=xml&key=ABQIAAAAl-D-juEBJBl1QtEOkEA4xxRq74fCmeinUJrLEYcyxUn7RTBozxRIOY5hYUzzy4JUziMboT4TIX6atw&q=Hans-Beimler-Str.+1-3%2C+17491+Greifswald%2C+Deutschland
through the browser. This url is the same the script would produce. If
I call it in the browser I get the result I want, if the script does
the same via simplexml_load_file it fails.
