Wow - a response from the man himself! I've spent a lot of time on your site, and you've helped me out a lot of times. Sometimes all you need is a simple example, and I like your site for that. Congrats.
OK, what I am actually trying to do is plot country shapes. So I can do a heat map of the world. Each country shaded a different colour. Here is sample of my data; <?xml version="1.0"?> <gpx version="1.0" creator="http://www.obviously.com/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http:// www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0" xsi:schemaLocation="http:// www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd"> <bounds minlat="-90.00000000" minlon="-180.00000000" maxlat=" 83.62025500" maxlon="180.000000007"/> <name>filename.shp</name> <rte><number>15</number><name>Isle of Man</name><cmt>IM</cmt> <rtept lat=" 54.05555000" lon=" -4.77777900"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 54.21582800" lon=" -4.71208400"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 54.36721800" lon=" -4.52750000"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 54.40999600" lon=" -4.35347300"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 54.29603600" lon=" -4.30868100"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 54.18638600" lon=" -4.39444400"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 54.06860400" lon=" -4.62388900"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 54.05555000" lon=" -4.77777900"></rtept> </rte> <rte><number>90</number><name>Turks and Caicos Islands</name><cmt>TC</ cmt> <rtept lat=" 21.82360800" lon="-71.88195800"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.94416400" lon="-72.03146400"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.94458200" lon="-71.91487100"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.82360800" lon="-71.88195800"></rtept> </rte> <rte><number>90</number><name>Turks and Caicos Islands</name><cmt>TC</ cmt> <rtept lat=" 21.73971900" lon="-71.65889000"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.78874800" lon="-71.71598100"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.77541400" lon="-71.82528700"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.85472100" lon="-71.84777800"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.83152600" lon="-71.66778600"></rtept> <rtept lat=" 21.73971900" lon="-71.65889000"></rtept> </rte> </gpx> What I am trying to do is draw polygons on the map. I suppose I should have made that clear in my original post.
