I have a similar problem. I haven't actually started using the Google
Maps API but have been playing with some of the demos to work out what
I can do.

I have a KMZ file which you can find at
http://www.dcs.shef.ac.uk/~mark/blog/blog_files/journeys/to_work.kmz

This KMZ file displays perfectly in Google Earth, with each Placemark
having a balloon with a title and a picture in it.

If I go to Google Maps using the URL
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=http://www.dcs.shef.ac.uk/~mark/blog/blog_files/journeys/to_work.kmz
then it also displays fine (although the camera images are a little
blurry but I can live with that).

However, I'd like to be able to load this KMZ file onto a Google Map
using the API. There is a demo of doing this at
http://googlemapsapi.blogspot.com/2007/03/kml-and-georss-support-added-to-google.html
-- But when I enter the URL of my KMZ file into this demo it loads and
displays the line and markers correctly. But the popup balloons don't
contain the photos. I'm assuming this is a bug in the Maps API and the
way it handles href elements in the KML file pointing to images within
the KMZ file. Has anyone else seen this before (I'm guessing the
original poster had the same problem) and more importantly does anyone
have a fix.

Thanks in advance
