There is something sucking up or otherwise blotting out the mouse
release on my page, leaving the map in perpetual drag mode. But this
only happens in Firefox, not in IE. (Haven't tried any other browsers,
however.

This seems to be an interaction between some other javascript which
implements a grid object, as the map drag drops correctly if I remove
or do not initialize the grid.

What I can't figure out is a way to locate the point at which the
dragend is lost. At this stage, I don't know whether the event is not
happening at all, going elsewhere, or if the event handler is being
blotted out or something else.

You can see what I mean by going to this link:

I've perused the DOm with Firebug for hours and can't narrow down
what's happening at all. Is there something that would better display
the events as they occur? Perhaps something that would also be
supported on IE so I could at least compare the good vs bad sequence?

Or if I'm really lucky, someone here will have the explanation at hand
and can set me straight?
