Well yes, but you wouldn't want to use localsearch to do all your 
geocoding.

I suppose that you could write some code that matches UK postcode 
patterns. If the address looks like a UK postcode, use localsearch, 
otherwise use the geocoder.

Also, I seem to remember that there was some suggestion that localsearch 
handling of UK postcodes was going to be switched off at some point.
