Or, before opening the infoWindow, removing the map controls? The infoWindow would then have more space to open into, and you could restore them on infowindowclose. Unfortunately I got a 500 error and a hundred lines of ColdFusion diagnostics when I tried your link, so I can't see what currently happens and whether the idea is feasible.
