Hi, So I've spent the last few days moving a demo map from Virtual Earth to Google Maps. I initially found that I needed to use KML rather than GeoRSS inorder to render custom pins the way I had been in VE. At this point it's starting to come together and I'm looking to how I'm going to handle the large amount of data I have, 40k+ markers.
After some reading it seems that KML won't work and that I need to add the pins "manually". I'm here looking for advice on how I should be preparing and presenting the data to the map control? So far I've used a separate web app I wrote to pull data from my DB and create an XML or KML around it (just 300 test markers). The demo of this can be seen on http://www.hoctordesign.com/map2.htm This is just the start of more interesting things I hope to do with the Map but I need a sound data structure and at the moment thats all up in the air, as is the project as a whole unless I can tie this details down. Any advice/points would be greatly appreciated, Regards, Denis --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
