I'll make another run at it with that, but my first attempt would only
bring back the results in the order produced by the xml file, even
after sorting them (which I'm doing on the client side with the Jquery
tablesorter.) I was having a tough time indexing them by primary key,
probably due to my lack of javascript skills.

Admittedly, I moved on to some other blind alleys probably too soon.
If the answer is in Mike's sidebar, I'll focus my energies there.
