Hi all, There has been many talks about how to use google map API on non- javascript environments, especially in Symbian OS, which is the most widely used mobile operating system. Many Symbian developers want to develop some map based application by using google map API. However, it is difficult to find out a clear guide or sample code to start with because most of the tutorials are meant for javascript developers. So I want to start a open source project. The purpose is to study a standard model of using google map API on Symbian OS and implement a sample code that can be used as a base by other symbian developers to continue their work. And of course, the model used in the project shouldn't violate the Terms of usage of google map API.
The open source project is based a small Symbian application that I implemented recently. It uses google static map API to browse google maps. The basic functions like zooming in/out are implemented but there are a lot of other features are missing. Since I am not lacking of knowledge on google map API, I don't know what kind of http request I should send to fetch the information as such "pizza/restaurant nearby". So I need help from this groups.
