When I said read all of the documentation, I meant read the ENTIRE
page where you are issued the key.  That page shows 3 separate
examples from which you, the user, can choose which service you need
(Javascript, Flash or HTTP).  Further, if you would have read a little
further on that page you would seen this snippet:

"Note that for all examples, you must replace the sensor parameter
with a valid value, based on whether your application uses a sensor to
determine a user's location. Check out the API documentation for more
information."

You could have avoided "wasting" 3 hours by spending more than 10
seconds on the page to copy and paste code.
