I have a tough assignment, and I am starting to figure out how to pull all this together. ANY help will be much appreciated!
The client is a real estate website, and they want a map view of the listings found in the search results. Sounds easy, but since the results can be in the thousands, it's not really possible to simple dump all the points on a map, no matter how big you make it. So, they want an overlay made up of 9 equal-sized rectangles to go on top of the map with a small font text somewhere inside each area indicating how many points (property listings) have been found under that region (just like Realtor.com has done with their map view). Each rectangle will then have a click event which will zoom in that specific area one level down. And of course, upon zooming in/out or moving the map, the overlay will be redrawn and data from the server will be added by AJAX. I have been trying to find an example like mine, but I am not that lucky. Anyone know of one? This has a lot of stuff which I don't know how to do. My main concern/difficulties are: 1) How do I create those 9 equal sized rectangles on my map with just their borders showing? 2) How do I get the count of items found within each boundary? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
