That's easy. That's on the client side and it is just a parameter
passed to mapiconmaker with the desired size.

Try checking the boxes:
- Show cluster cells (Slower performance!)
- Clamp grid cells to lat/lon

... and that should give you an idea of what's going on. The map is
simply divided into a grid and you count how many markers there are
inside each cell.
