OK, why are you reacting that harsh? I'm not battling with Google's 
docs, I'm battling with their encoding. Don't you want to get this? I 
think I have described my use case very clearly: I'm getting the encoded 
polyline from Google together with the levels. I'm totally free to 
ignore the levels at all, but I didn't want to miss something. I can't 
simply follow the advices you experts gave, because if it doesn't match 
Google's "reality" nothing has been won. To be specific: I don't want to 
run into a condition, in which someone finds, that the polyline is 
diplayed differently on my screen compared to the next best browser.

That's it. Therefore Google rules here.
