I have a GMaps-based app that's used effectively by members of the ham
community.  It does a fair bit of record-keeping in addition to the
maps/directions/geo-coding that  GMaps does so well.

But there's a standing concern re instances when subject situation
occurs, in which case the local server wd be operational but without
remote connectivity - temporarily.  These folks are in the business of
providing support during emergency conditions, so the concern is a
proper one.  By and large they can solve the problems of emergency
power, etc., but not the one of Internet connectivity.

While I can accommodate that in the application with internal bypass
of the API-dependent code, some kind of server-stored map/imagery with
some kind of JS library like OpenLayers wd be useful in that hopefully-
rare case.

I wonder if anyone has looked at this issue in any depth and has
suggestions.  Thanks, all.
