Wow, if I comment out the CSS code in the site template, the map works correctly in IE. Thanks, Ralph! Unfortunately this change also destroys the look of the site. So, I'm going to have to take apart the style sheet bit by bit to see if I can figure what's casuing the problem and come up with a workaround.
